6/16/2023 New Gospel Radio Station coming to Emmet.
After the water tank painting project is complete crews will install new transmitting antennae on the tower for the new Emmet Radio Station. The transmitting studios will also be located in Emmet.

6/6/2023 Plans are being made to remove the Wireless Internet Service from the our water tower. New antenna’s will be installed on the portable tower that is setting beside of the fire station. There will be no interruption in your service from Premier Broadband. Service will be provided from the portable tower until the tank painting is complete then the antennae’s will be reinstalled on the tower.

TO AMEND THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT
OF 1967; AND TO REQUIRE ALL OPEN PUBLIC
MEETINGS TO BE RECORDED.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Arkansas Code § 25-19-106, concerning open public meetings
under the Freedom of Information Act of 1967, is amended to add an additional subsection to read as follows:
(d)(1) All officially scheduled, special, and called open public meetings shall be recorded in a manner that allows for the capture of sound including without limitation:
(A) A sound-only recording;
(B) A video recording with sound and picture; or
(C) A digital or analog broadcast capable of being recorded.
(2) A recording of an open public meeting shall be maintained by the public entity for a minimum of one (1) year from the date of the open public meeting.
(3) The recording shall be maintained in a format that may be

(4) Subdivisions (d)(1) and (2) of this section do not apply to:
(A) Executive sessions; or
(B) Volunteer fire departments.

A Preconstruction Conference for Emmets Asphalt Overlay Project was held at city hall this morning at 11:00 am. Work is to start around August 15th.

The city has received approval for $300,000.00 to overlay selected streets in Emmet.
The city has received approval for $234,000.00 to repaint the city's water tank.
The city has received approval for $223,000.00 to improve drainage on South Vine St.
The city could receive $90,000.00 from the American Recovery Act.

The City has a NEW TELEPHONE SYSTEM.
Emmet City Hall, The Emmet Public Library, and the Tornado Shelter have a new Telephone system and Internet Provider.
This is a VOIP system. Calls can be placed and/or received from either location; multiple calls can be placed or received simultaneously, calls can be made between desks or buildings.
The audio quality is excellent.
The city also has an auto-attendant. Calls received after hours will be answered by our auto-attendant. These calls will be sent by e-mail to the mayor.
THANKS to PREMIER BROADBAND; the equipment, the installation, and the monthly telephone bills are paid by PREMIER BROADBAND. Telephone, 50mg Internet speed, and Fax are FREE to the City of Emmet.
